At a time when the second wave of Covid-19 is creating havoc in India, the busy Pathsala Railway Station in Assam’s Bajali district is yet to have a screening area to screen engers for the virus.
Although large numbers of engers board and unboard different trains at this busy railway station, the railway authorities have not taken any initiative to screen engers arriving here.

Although the Bajali district istration has issued several guidelines to curb the spread of the virus, many people can be seen flouting all protocols in the district.

Meanwhile, India recorded 352,991 new Covid-19 cases and more than 2,800 deaths on Sunday.
Assam reported 14 more deaths on Sunday, while the number of cases rose by 1,844, pushing the tally 2,37,533, the National Health Mission (NHM) Assam said.
Despite the district istration’s appeal, people are holding functions like marriages where large gathering have been witnessed with no one bothering to follow social distancing.
A section of the public also can be seen roaming about in public places without masks despite the police fining those without masks with Rs 1000.
However, several NGOs in the district have come forward to sensitize the public on Covid-19 protocols and are distributing face masks among the people in public places .
