At least two teachers of the Udalguri girls’ higher secondary school in Assam have tested positive for COVID-19. 

Both the teachers were confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 virus on Thursday.

The development was informed to this correspondent by principal of the school – Dilip Kumar Sahariah. 

Sahariah said that the matter has been communicated to the concerned inspector of schools of Udalguri district and the t director of health services of the district.

Teachers, employees and students of the school will undergo COVID-19 tests on Friday. 

Meanwhile, with growing concerns over spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19, the samples of the positive teachers are expected to be sent for genome sequencing.
