Imphal: Manipur Police have busted a valley-based insurgent’s recruitment module in Thoubal, leading to the arrests of two active cadres of the proscribed Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), an official stated on Tuesday.
The official stated that the police, acting on specific information generated by the Thoubal district police, launched a search operation against those who are motivating, funding, and providing logistic to the gullible youth of the southern Thoubal district to recruit them into insurgency ranks.

After systemic efforts, police arrested an active cadre of KYKL, namely, Sapam Boboy Singh, also known as Aboy @ Kuki (36) from Chingtham Pukhri Achouba area under Khongjom PS, Thoubal District.
During the on-spot interrogation, the arrestee confessed to recruiting new cadres into the insurgency in the same district.
From his instances, a t team of police and central security forces launched another operation that led to the arrest of another KYKL (SOREPA) cadre identified as Shagolshem Thoiba Singh @ Chingshanglakpa (23) of Wangjing S K Leikai, Thoubal District.

Police reported that both of them recruit youngsters into insurgent groups and conduct extortion activities by serving monetary demands/threats, etc., in the Thoubal District.
The official added that the police seized two mobile phones and 2 SIM Cards from their possession.
